Wandering through the Valley of Kings within the Knoxville Zoo, the last thing I expected to find were Hamadryas Baboons patrolling the perimeter of their enclosure. Yet here they were on the overcast day, the older, larger animal leading the other as they slowly passed along the fence line. The overcast day allowing for the animals to take on a soft contrast, the harsh colors washed slightly in the mid morning. They took momentary notice of me approaching the habitat, then just as quickly turned away, and continued the endless trek.
