I do like the variety of the focal range. Tell me, is it possible to actually have everything in focus? Supposedly, (I use 16mm film) and heard that if you focus at a specific point, from the camera to the point will be in focus. Know what I mean? I kinda fudged it up when I used the Hassellblad.
You actually can pretty much have everything in focus. I'm not sure if you're familiar with aperture, but its like the pupil of your eye; it can widen or narrow pending on light. If you shoot at a small aperture, like F22 (very small hole) the wavelengths of light actually become so much more sharp, and details will be in focus.

Interesting shot...looks like it belongs on the cover of a church pamphlet though. You should find one of those sites where they put those covers up for sale...you know...the ones with beaches at sunset or mountains...and they always have some cheesy quote or excerpt from the Bible. Could totally make some money with that. >.>

Finding these places is a matter of research really. Or training your eye to look for empty places.
I'm really not sure why everything was left inside. My guess is that it closed down for one reason or another, with full intention to re-open, but that just never happened.
