To convince his fellow monkeys to embrace bloon rubber, he goes out on scouting missions to find suitable recruits. ("Suitable" in this case having a double meaning lol) Once they've stopped fighting back, he drags them to the his Dojo, to begin their training and conditioning. Only after they've accepted the ways of Sensei/Senpai Gu does their living rubber encasing transform into a ninja uniform that fits their personality and skillset. (but its still not removable, of course)
