So this started as a commission in which I never wanted to take in the first place. I was finally talked into doing it after like months and months of being bothered about it. And now that I am this far into it the commissioner doesn't want it. Says "It's good, just not his style", which is fine I guess...except for the fact that now I am expected to give him a full refund and get ass raped for the materials and labor put into it.
HOW WONDERFUL!! -sarcasm-
So, Just for future reference to anyone that commissions me, I am not quarrazel, primal visions, beastcub, firestorm, furhappens, or any of those other fursuit makers.
If you want THEIR style of fursuit, please commission THEM.
I make my own style of fursuits and that is the style you will get.

wow everything is so smooth and clean looking.. and do not refund material cost, ever. its not how things work and it is not expected of the artist to do so as its just fucking the artist over. refund the rest but not material cost. this is marvelous however and you will have no problem selling him off as a partial if you showcase him well and advertise about :3 let me know when hes up for sale hun and i can pimp you out through a journal or sometihng
Something tells me that I know who commissioned you, and if my intuition is right I feel very sorry for you.
If I were you, I'd go ahead and ship the head to the person who commissioned it with a polite note that he/she should have been aware of your style before commissioning you. You are not liable for a refund just because the customer out of the blue decides "Hey, I don't like the style". You filled in your end of the contract, just send the head over and move on. That's my advice though.

Hell, Id snap this up if I could afford it. It's a lovely piece of work and it shows. Glad to see you're not giving the douche who conned you into this a full refund. As far as I'm concerned, someone who does something like that shouldn't even get a partial refund. Hope you find a good home for this beauty.

Nice/Different Eye design! Is it an eye-looker? I've never been keen on Duct-lookers (or anything that the wearer Doesn't look through the eyes)

As everybody else said, don't refund the materials. That's pretty much a rule of the fursuit business. We can't exactly go and return the materials...
Also, who on earth commissioned you for something that isn't your style??!! You have a VERY neat distinctive style... I'm sure you'll have no problems selling this head :)

The commissioner obviously wasn't experienced enough to understand that artists have "styles" and that picking the right style is more than simply saying "I'll pick that one because they're cheap/don't have that creature yet in their repertoire/have the time to do it"

First off that is beautiful work,if my fursona was a clouded leopard id want that head!

Dude, what a total douche, you don't do that to an artist ESPECIALLY a fursuit maker, if I had the funds I'd buy it off of you. You do quality work, next time take a 30% down payment first just incase someone pulls out, then you'll a little bit of a cushion to cover yourself
Thanks for the support hun, I have been having a real issue with this suit. I sorta want to sell it to someone who lives near him just so that he gets to see it all the time and kinda rub it in. but I am just too nice of a person to do that sort of thing. Why can't tigers be vindictive? ...Well this one anyway.

Well I think its a great loss but if they didn't appreciate all the effort you did, it's a good thing in a way they didn't get it or they might not have taken the care of it.
