Always a good balance with the well known foxes and those whom aren't quite so familiar with in this case an anime series of Pinocchio. I know there was an earlier anime from 1972 which I think was called Mokku of the Oak Tree.
I don't know if he'd be as villainous as Honest John, though the poor fox doesn't look too happy about his situation, though I guess he's maybe finding it a little awkward with one footwrap and one bare foot. Not so comfortable being lead by a leash when you're limping along.

Interesting. Mokku of the Oak Tree was unknown to me.
This fox and Honest John are on a same level in terms of cunning and mischievous personality. The only difference is that Honest John pretends to an upper class nobleman, while this fox is mostly focused on sweet talking and does not care for his appearence
