A little bit delving into my comic idea, of which I've decided the Broken Bird is a character. A knower of many things and a servant of a great beast, the Feather Pillar, who I will soon be sharing my concept art for.
He is a tinkerer, and alchemy is his favourite science.
He is deathless, due to the testing and experimenting he does to himself.
He is frail and easily bested in feats of strength.
He will share all of his information willingly, but do his best to lead people to the Feather Pillar.
I have changed his hands to to have five fingers, but like any bird, the first two fingers are fused together.

Alchemists don't! Apparently there was a text written once on the conduct of an alchemist (although I'm not sure how widely accepted it was) that lends themselves to isolation and aloofness. As with most master/aprentice relationships, they would only ever have one at any given time and they'd typically live in the same house together.
