The fox sat there, on top of that crypt in the old park, day after day. Fog, rain, snow, sunshine--the weather conditions mattered not to him, his dirty purple fur and grimy combat pants always blowing slightly in the wind. The biohazardous symbol tattooed on his back warned of his nature, and the guns shoved in his waistband and pockets did little to dissuade the appearance of danger and a best untold past. He'd been nicknamed "The Ghost Man" by the human inhabitants of the city for a good reason. Whenever the fog rolled in, the park took on an otherworldly appearance. Insubstantial and ghostly, the few visitors would hurry about their business there, the faint voices scaring them away while the fox just sat on his morbid perch, drinking the voices in and joining in their glorious song every night.

I've generalized it myself as "dark" plenty of times in the past, as that's more or less how I am inside (evil and fucking loving it!), so no worries on that point.
On the writing, thanks for the compliment on it being well-suited. This is actually one of my least-favorite pieces, to be honest, as every time I read it I keep picking up on jarring errors in the flow of the prose...if you like this, you'll probably like my other writing that goes along with the different pictures I've uploaded.
