Hopes of a holiday with you.....

I sit here thinking of what we are,
dreaming of when you'll be home away from the war,
away from the pain. Each of us uring to be in each others arms, each passing day you are gone me heart cries with thoughts that you may never come back. I toss and turn every night your not in bed as your side gets colder and colder my heart sighs and wants you to return. Oh look how lovely the holidays are here many soldiers have returned but you are still gone, my heart skips a beat every time the mailman comes, making wondering if it will hold dark news that you will not be returning, I just want you here with me for the holidays I just want you to hold me like you do in my dreams every night, each dream gives me hope and makes me proud knowing that you are helping and aiding people out in the war but, all I wish for this holiday season is you here by the warm fire reading our favorite book with me. so for now all I do is dream of you and think of you just I hope I don’t have to say.....
