At the end of a harrowing journey through the depths of Zebes, Rouge finds herself down in the depths of the newly rebuilt Tourian, face to face with the Mother Brain - a hybrid of Chozo and Echidna tech made to control the metroids, gone rogue and rebuilt by the space pirates after her initial defeat at Rouge's hands on her last adventure to Zebes - and now having been saved from the monster’s oppressing beam attacks by the sacrifice of the larval metroid she came to retrieve, who even rejuvenated her and hyper-charged her suit, her cannon shaking with energy. The creature who saw the bat as its own mother, perishing to save her and reduced to this lifeless water dripping down from the palm of her armored hand...
That energy making her cannon shake was going to be released, the baby metroid was going to be avenged.
