If any of you should be wondering WHY Scylla is a grumpy snake, here is some small trivia:

In a nutshell, Scylla has felt treated unfairly for the longest time, above all by her parents, as they favored Selina over her. Selina usually gets the attention of everyone because of her kind and joyful nature. Scylla has a deep grudge against her sister, but whenever she gets angry, Selina just brushes it off, as if it wasn't serious, holding on to the idea, that everything is fine. Selina overplays the whole problem with her optimism and positivity, which kind of keeps both of them from talking things out. So... they have a complicated sisters-relationship. Here you also have one reason why Scylla likes it to follow her hunting instinct. If people refuse to "love" you, being feared might be the next best thing.
