Ryoko has needed a full redesign for a while. Shows how hard it can be when you have a clear image in your mind of who a character is, want to retain elements of the original idea, but are very clear that the original idea is both poorly executed and terribly out of date. ;p

She has a lot of elements of different monsters in her that compete, but they also all work together pretty well in determining who she is. I feel like putting in the red was a gamble, but one that worked out. I'll have to make a marking guide at some point. I'm a little unhappy with the symbols I used on the scarf, so they're likely to change. I think the Illusory Blades turned out super great, and the wires were so effective that when I showed this IRL to someone, they did the pose like they were trying to figure out what was going on there and *then* noticed the wires and visibly had bit of a chill.
