Ahhhhh, Archie Comics. At times, their writing is quite decent to OK.
Most of the time, they just pull shit out of their ass don't they?
Apparently Shadow is not the Ultimate Life form, but the Ultimate PANSY. He can beat Fiest, but a little flicker of fire will disable his teleport power. He can beat Black Doom and Mephilies, yet he can't beat Lara-Su.
Apparently this is what I believe. When the Archie writers want their characters to win, they pull out some bullshit power out and just press the "win" button. That is not good writing, that is a COP OUT. Don't even get me started on the EMP mines Tails conveniently had in the right position, at the right time to trigger on the Dark Legion, even though there was nothing to show he placed them there.
It takes away any tension or drama in a situation and basically is like Archie is being a troll.
Also, whats wtih the character turn overs? One time Lien-Da In the future(And F*** that storyline too) said she didn't want to hurt the kids, than the next few pages she fires a rocket launcher at Sonic and Sally...and the kids.
I may not be a creative writing expert, but even I can notice bad writing. I also love how Rouge and Shadow were willing to help Sonic and friends, than be complete doches to them later on.
And you can't say that its a ability Blaze has that can do that. Not only is it never mentioned or used, but she is not Super. Shadow is powerful and can become more so with Chaos Emeralds(Seeing as Sol Emeralds are like them). The fact she can basically say "No teleport for you lawl" shows that whenver Archie wants a character to win, but they wrote themselves into a corner, they have to come up with a bullshit power they can pull out of their ass.
Lara-Su is worst with this, in that she never onced used said powers until conveniently when she was fighting Shadow and even managed to BEAT HIM.
First of all, heres a creative writing tip. Don't just make your character win the battle with the villain if your continuing a story. Instead, let the villain win or get one over the hero. It creates tension, and have the Hero manage to use something he had before to beat the villain in one desperate strike. Magic powers does not count, since pulling out a power you NEVER had before, raises more questions. If its a power they DID have before, than it makes sense.
Even Linkara could point out this stuff if he had extensive knowledge of the Archie Sonic universe.
I know I contribute to this madness by buying the comics, but Rouge really is the ONLY reason I buy them. I could easily not give a rats ass once the ark is over, which Blaze and the others will win, since Archie will make tension in the story, only to be resolved with a stupid reason.
Defend Blaze if you want, but don't defend Archie. I don't like Blaze that much, but its the writers who are to blame when characters act like dicks, pricks, and act out of character.

There was a thought-bubble from Rouge earlier in the first issue of the arc that read: That makes this... complicated...
I think Team Dark is acting under orders from G.U.N, and their hearts aren't really in this confrontation, which is why they're not doing as well as they normally would. Rogue's just being more professional and not giving away any personal feelings on the matter. (Other than her gem fetish, of course.) Most likely it's gonna end with Team Blazing Rose and Team Dark teaming up and everyone's goals being achieved one way or another.
Also, I think Omega developing a crush on Blaze was just hilarious. "Let's burn things together!" LOL.
But again, this is just my opinion and what I've seen.
