Jason & The General [May 20th 2022]
Remember how I said Blackmask's favourite gun was an M60 called Heidi? And how she'd inherited it from her late father? Well, here is the late father in question: Jason Madison MacArthur, better known as East Bay Jay. In his prime, he was the frontman and lead guitarist for The Field Marshals, one of the most popular rock bands in the Bay Area. He'd always been very anti-establishment, and this led to him sometimes adopting a satirical stage persona known simply as The General.
The General's clothes and equipment came courtesy of Jason's parents, who ran the local government surplus depot - and often stocked more impressive and dangerous gear than perhaps they were supposed to. Hence why Jason was so easily able to swap his Gibson SG for an M60 (incidentally, Jason's mother was called Heidi, which is the in-universe explaination for him naming his M60 thus).
Jason eventually retired The General after realizing that he was no longer enough to effectively undercut the growing military industrial complex, which was sucking all the fun out of taking the piss out of the military. The persona was briefly revived for 2985's The General Returns, the first album the Field Marshals released after Jason's sudden death in June 2984.
