It takes you all day... all morning(?), night(?) to get a grip on reality, you feel dizzy after leaving the clinic, like you're in five places at once.
Eventually you begin to feel better, but then you shake your head to try to clear out some of the brain fog and suddenly it's night time and you're laying face-down in the grass in front of the lab; you roll over, staring up at the town's fake, starry sky.
You get up, go home and immediately lay down in bed, sleeping in your clothes and lab coat.
