The half demon stood tall and stalwart as her piercing gaze focused solely on her quarry before her, having tracked down the monster through the night and had even found where it had chosen to stake its territory. Where it had been attacking, stealing away, and killing innocent passersby, and striking fear into the hearts and minds of the public in town… To its credit, it had made a point of trying to lay low, trying to avoid detection for as long as possible while it carried out its heinous killings during the quiet hours of the night. At least up until now, that is. Even with its attempts to be cautious, the creature couldn’t completely avoid her attention, and now she had come to finally end this reign of terror that had been ongoing for the past couple of weeks. No more innocent blood would be spilled tonight, not if she had anything to say about it…

Kira’s eyes flash with a menacing fiendish radiance as her glare clashes with that of the beast, the two engaging in silent combat as they wordlessly rage against each other’s mettle to see who dared make the first move. The monster gives a guttural, ominous sounding roar in an attempt to shake her resolve as they circle around one another, but the lynx simply returns the threat in kind with a furious snarl of her own. As if that meager show of intimidation could crack the will of a demon, even a half-blood at that.

“You don’t belong here,” her words are as sharp as her gaze, her tone practically oozes vitriol and resentment as she bares her fangs, “I don’t know where exactly you came from or how you managed to make your way into this world. But this isn’t your place to call home, and you sure as hell have no business hunting here either.”

Clawed feet scraping through the dirt as she takes on a determined fighting stance, Kira pointedly flares her crimson-tipped wings out in preparation to take to the skies for an aerial advantage if needed. Holding a hand out, she taps into her magic with expert ease and conjures up a small ball of purple colored eldritch flame, the blazing sphere seeming to pulse and quiver with anticipation as it dances just above her palm.

They never go down without putting up some kind of a fight, after all. But Kira knew well enough to expect as much when she'd gone out on the hunt to begin with, any monster hunter or demon slayer worth their salt never went into these sorts of situations unprepared. Already she could see the beast crouching down where it stood, lips pulled back to show off a mouth full of dagger-like fangs, its muscles visibly tensing in a way that immediately alerted her that it was readying itself to pounce.

“But if you really must insist on making a nuisance of yourself and disturbing the peace… Then you leave me no choice but to banish you by force.” She curls her fingers around the orb of searing, frenetic energy in preparation to hurl it with a deft flick of her wrist, violet eyes glowing brighter with an almost primal fury as the thrill of the imminent battle races through her veins. “And if I have to rip and tear you apart until there’s not even an atom left, I’d be more than glad to. So come at me with all you’ve got, you bastard. Rest assured you won’t find even a sliver of mercy in me…”

An incredibly done art piece featuring my half demon lynx lady Kira in a more... dangerous sort of light! This definitely shows more of that side of her that anyone would only really see if they make themselves her enemy, she IS technically still a demon at heart regardless of how she seems on the outside. But because she is only a half-demon, her mortal side acts as a sort of moral compass for guiding her thoughts and actions to do the right thing, and as such she only really uses the full extent of her fiendish powers for good and to protect the innocent from danger. She acts as a demonic vigilante of sorts for all evils of the supernatural flavor, fighting against monsters and even other demons who would threaten the livelihoods of the public and her loved ones as well. Sorta like Hellboy in a way, if you get that reference x3

That aside, this turned out incredibly awesome for only a sketch piece! The dark, abstract purple background really helps set the atmosphere for this, and that determined, snarling expression on Kira's face along with her implied glowing eyes, outstretched wings, and the purple fireball in her hand makes her look quite menacing indeed! Definitely not the kind of gal you'd wanna be on the wrong side of, for sure! I'm so happy with how awesome this turned out, for sure!
