This is how the comic will actually look, the regular pages. :3 I haven't decided on shading yet, but I probably will -- just one "multiply" layer with extra grey thrown into major areas of shadow, which won't take long per page. Bonus pages and "covers" will be full-color. And I'm gonna do a tutorial on this method, since it's ridiculously easy with Photoshop. :D I'm so glad I'm gonna save myself extra time. It's just a matter of flatting in the right colors in SAI, desaturating, and using a Photoshop Action I made. :D You'll be able to do it too, whee!
And no more submissions of this pic, I swear.
Anyway. Back to actual work.

Love, my friend. Love.
<3 Haha, I'm sort of kidding.
The synopsis: An archivist, raised by his uncle after a tragedy in the family, sets out on his own and moves to a new city. A skeptic by nature, he soon discovers that the imaginary friend of his childhood was not imaginary at all. He quickly learns that there is a supernatural world all around him—one that many human beings have been entwined with for centuries. The Noscere, an order of scholars that have a history of breaking the ties between the Adare (nephilim, energy vampires, bound to one human at a time) and the Velle (humans), are led by a power-hungry scholar named Pauel Claerbout who has found a way to imprison the Adare's first nephilim and use him as a battery. Claerbout's greed has broken the unsteady peace between the two races, and the human world is threatened with hell on earth if Hiryuu and his nephilim, Raen, do not find a way to intervene.
The themes are:
BOOK ONE: Human/supernatural world parallels, character drama.
BOOK TWO: Politics, betrayal, building tension, character drama.
BOOK THREE: War, rebellion.
