Christchurch tram "1888" operating on the Christchurch City tram loop in 2022, running through the pedestrianised Oxford Terrace area next to the Avon River.
"1888" started life as Sydney "R-class" tram 1801 in 1934, running in Sydney from 1934 to 1959. Then after restoration in Bendigo in 2000, she was operated in Melbourne during "Trams on Parade" celebrations in 2001 and 2002 before being leased to the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) in Auckland in 2009. 1808 then ran on the Western Springs tramline between MOTAT, Auckland Zoo and MOTAT 2 until 2017, whereupon she was then leased to the Christchurch City Tramway and renumbered as "1888".

In other words, 1888 has run in no less that four cities in Australasia!
