D-O-G T-R-E-A-T?

This piece came about during a recent guitar practice I embarked upon, after having consumed a medical cannabis edible, and the dog was once again being a brat.
Obviously, it shouldn't be taken all that seriously, as it's nothing more than a cranky, midlife-crisis grumble about the ongoing struggle of getting the doggo to behave himself long enough that I can get in that hour-or-so of guitar practice each day.
One of the biggest (milk) bones of contention is that I have the mindset that Tee-Are-Ee-Ay-Tee (any dog owner knows why I spell the word, instead of say it. :P ), that Tee-Are-Ee-Ay-Tee is a reward for good behaviour, and not a bribe, a shakedown, or any other 'in-advance' sort of scheme.
I learned quite early on that payment in advance means he has no incentive to try and behave. He would definitely flunk the Stanford Marshmallow Test. :P
Sometimes he gets rather insulted, and will go so far as to nose-*BAP* the pocket, where he knows I'm hiding the small milk bones and/or the bits of jerky snacks.
There is also a small musical mention in the piece, specifically the song: "Higher Up the Berry Tree", from the 1955 film: Many Rivers to Cross.
