Back in 2001, Steven Spielberg came out with the movie "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence", and - for its print ad campaign - used the silhouette of star Haley Joel Osment as part of the logo for the film's title. And I wanted to render a parody of this logo, using an anthropomorphic character.
Hence, I came up "I.F.: Imitation Furry". I'd made a full-sized ad, complete with a review, and spoofs of studio logos - DreamWorms Picture (with a worm resting on the moon), Bambin Entertainment (with a deer's head), and Marmot Brothers Pictures (using an upside-down and backwards Warner Bros. logo); starring Rob Lowe... as 'IF'!
(For "Fur Affinity", I'm just presenting the aforementioned logo, instead of the entire print ad spoof.)
I came out with said parody for the July, 2001 issue of the 'funny animal' APAzine "Rowrbrazzle", just in time for me to go to "AnthroCon" in Philadelphia, PA, where many of its attendees enjoyed seeing my handiwork. They'd obviously foreseen that my talents would appear in other media, like the Internet. How right they were!
