Boitatá watches by weaving itself onto the land and skies, like a thread.

mba'etatá (Old Tupi for ‘fire snake’) was my fav Brazilian folklore lore when I was a kid. It is able to live underwater, may kill you or make you lose sanity, but also has some neutral/benevolent myths, like protecting forests.
In my story I’m using it as a watcher and protector who’s often seen by travelers, or who actively interferes with people’s lives.
