Never give up in your noble quest to provide a good home for cephalopods!
And by the way, how did you know that cuttlefish love caramel? This is hardly common knowledge, despite the well-corroborated news reports of caramel-shipping fleets being pulled down to a watery doom by giant tentacles from the deep; it happens at least once every hour, and often twice!

They are legal to own if tropical fish are legal (and I don't know of anywhere in the US it isn't). Still, this picture is mostly a joke.
I wouldn't actually own pet cephalopods for 2 reasons...to my knowledge, no one is captive breeding them, and tropical fish are often taken from the wild in really awful ways, like fishing with cyanide. :( (I keep only captive bred freshwater fish for this reason).
The other is that cephalopods demand very specific and sometimes difficult care in the PH and water quality areas, and I would be scared of hurting them.
These things aside, though, cephalopods are among my dream pets. :)
