Yesterday had something extraordinary happened.
I was with friends on our private property. We wanted to watch the Perseiden shooting stars in the night sky.
It was in the early evening. The wife of a friend of me (her name is Mirvat) suddenly heard something. I had music on and her husband opened a video on his phone, yet she still heard something. Apparently it was a tiny meow.
We located the source on a tree around 50 meters from us away.
A tiny kitten! All alone. As Mirvat, tried to pick it up from the tree, it fell and run away, but we followed and picked it up once it paused and tried to hide.
The poor lil fella was scared to death.
He tried nearly to bury his in our arms just to not face us the cruel world that got him. You can see me holdding it up there.
We guess that he's probably 1 or 2 months old.
Now what to do with him? We rescued him, alright, but... what to do now?
We be couldn't hold a cat in our flat. Mirvat and her husband already have a cat in their flat. A big maine-coon tomcat on top. Their kids of course only tried to get that poor fella into their flat.
So the only thing that seemed to be a likely solution, is that we bring that probably wild born kitten to an animal shelter.
We couldn't just leave the poor thing alone. It was all alone and we were pretty sure it would have died if we left it on its own. We not seen any other kittens, nor a mother cat looking for it. It could have died or whatever, thus we had to find a home for.
Then my parents mentioned that a nearby shepherd might had cats on his lil farm home. Perhaps the kitten came from there?
We wanted at least try finding out.
I carried the lil guy and my friend drove us over to the shepherd's home.
We already heard dogs barking as we approached the door.
His wife was only at home along with her three shelties.
We asked her if she had perhaps a cat that resently gave birth to kittens.
She told us that she has one cat, but that's a neutered male so... Rather unlikely.
As we told her that none of us could take care of it and that we could only take it to an animal shelter, she agreed to take care of the poor lil thing and get it some kitten milk.
She told us that we could come by to visit the lil guy.
So that sweet lil ill fated kitten got a new home.

We had to do something.
Morale and ethics might be something human made, but even in the animal kingdom is interspecies help not uncommon.
Given that it was humans folly over centuries that lead to such a situation, I felt obliged to help.
Besides the way that poor lil thing buried into my arms in fear was tearing my heart apart.
