I like it a lot. They added some really cool things. I'm not sure which to tell you though, in case you hate spoilers. x3
I hate almost all of the new Pokemon though. :/ There's a fucking ICE CREAM CONE POKEMON. WHHYY.
The 3D stuff is kinda neat too, but annoying sometimes. There's a very long bridge route where there's absolutely nothing to do but walk straight ahead, and it moves from different angles to show off the new 3D stuff and it's so stupid. Maybe that keeps little kids interested, but I think it's a huge waste of time when I'm trying to get back to the city to trade in a new Pokemon I just caught, but I have to spend forever walking across this retarded 3D bridge, get my Pokemon, then go back across the same bridge to catch more Pokemon. >8(
Also 3d and pixels are just weird together. In certain angles, the lineart around the characters gets jumbled and it just drives me crazy.
The towns are really unique, though. It doesn't feel like you're always in the same town with a different layout. The buildings are incredibly different in each town, the layouts are way different. I'm only on my third badge in the 4th or 5th town, but Jason is already to the Elite Four so I've asked him about some things.
The animated sprites during the battle is neat. Again, the pixels annoy me when in motion or 3D but it's still interesting that they move. They also move much slower when they're asleep, almost fainted, poisoned, etc, which I think is neat.
I have not been fond of the newer Pokemon games. My favorites have been the original Red/Blue/Yellow, Gold/Silver/Crystal, Heartgold/SoulSilver, and now White/Black I enjoy as well. I would definitely recommend it. It's not what I wish Pokemon would do with its potential, but it's a huge step in a better direction.

I don't know. :U I have a DS Lite and Jason has a DSi XL.
Some spoilers:
Triple battles :O
Rare Pokemon spots (ex: When you're walking around and you see long grass shaking, you're guaranteed a rare Pokemon t be in the grass. Make sure you have repels though because if you get into a random encounter battle before you reach the shaking grass, you'll miss out on the rare Pokemon). Different thing for different areas(shaking grass in the plains, dark bubbly spot in water, swirling dirt in caves, etc)
Even longer grass, which has stronger Pokemon and wild double battles. :o
I actually get my ass kicked a lot in this game. The wild Pokemon and trainers are stronger than in previous games so you're actually always advancing, rather than over powering everything except gym leaders. Unless you're Jason and you only use one Pokemon, ever, so you end up with a level 60 main Pokemon fighting level 25-30 Pokemon. >_>
