Here’s a bit of an older Scaling Up YCH I did for the splendid  Nxhoj, featuring his wolf trying out a state-of-the-art smart scale! While he got the fancy bit of tech to help with weight loss, this scale has an much different idea…

The hypnosis element of this piece was a whole lot of fun to play with. Absolutely loved the concept, and many thanks again to  Nxhoj for commissioning me!

Part 1


It all started with a scale. Or, better yet, the idea that wormed its way into the scale’s complex motherboard. Equipped with the technology enabling the newest of ocular suggestive techniques, this scale was intended to ease the mind into better habits. But… something’s off with this one… And the requests it broadcasts are very different from the alleged motives of its manufacturers.

Why lose the weight when you can simply let it all go? Or, better yet, dive right into every fattening treat and snack in front of you… Yes, yes… that’s right… satiate that hunger that you hardly realized you had…

As you can see, this scale is terribly good at getting what it wants….

Part 2

Well, this scale is getting downright chummy isn’t it? Who knew that a simple glitch could bring out the best of an AI’s personality. While other scales would bark and spark at such a rapid weight gain, this one appreciates Nxhoj’s potbelly - in fact, it more than appreciates it. It wants - no, it needs - his girth to grow… and then the fun can really begin.

Part 3

Well, would you look at this porker? He’s fallen hand over fist for every last one of the machine’s corpulent commands, and then some! The more his body wobbles, the more his will subsides, the machine eagerly suggesting more and more extreme shows of gluttony for the once-limber lupine. Now, onto the next course…

Part 4

Fascinating, isn’t it, how the “glitch” has enabled the ocular hypnotism beam to warp around the ever-expanding curvature of Nxhoj’s bountiful belly? It seems almost like it had that function built in… Hmmm… but, then again, why would you ponder such a minute detail, when you could instead admire the good this scale has done for this wolf’s fabulously flabby figure?

Part 5

Well, well, well… how the cookie crumbles - or in this case, the scale shatters. It looks like our dearest doughball here has surpassed the AI’s wildest expectations - as well as its maximum weight limit! Quiet the pickle for that fickle machine, but, I’m afraid there’s no going back… No trick can restrict this wobbling wolf’s appetite now! 

But, can anyone really expect him to pass on 4th dinner? That’d be downright cruel for a wolf of his size - we wouldn’t want him going hungry now, would we?

Part 6

By some unearthly miracle, the devious scale still yet draws breathe - or, rather, bandwidth. Speaking of width, Nxhoj’s as wide as can be! Our lupine friend has taken full advantage of the scale’s many new upgrades. From appetite- accelerating broadcasts to burger-burdened belts, he’s begun to look less like a wolf and more like a whale. A fact which our chummy scale takes extreme delight in…

Who could say what went wrong? Through some gluttonous glitch, voluminous virus, or tremendous trick, this scale ended up being the most life-changing and lard-packing purchase Nxhoj has made! And I’d say he got more than his money’s worth off of this. You can’t put a price on happiness, even the hedonistic, hypnotic kind.
