Sahee was born at Le Pal zoo, France and arrived at Bristol Zoo in August 2019.

The Asiatic lion has unfortunately been declared the most endangered large cat species in the world and Bristol Zoo has been contributing to the European captive breeding programme for many years. The intent is to maintain a health and genetically diverse population away from the lions' native domain to protect against any loss of the wild population.
Sadly Bristol Zoos remaining 'cub' Ketan passed due to an infection in 2019. A loss felt by many as Ketan was such a relaxed and friendly cat, believed to be the result of having been hand-raised.
