In this case I'm a huge fan of sour candies. As a child, I loved these super sour lolly pops that had a gum center. These things would hurt your mouth, but it was worth!
As for the dragon, I went for a poisonous, haluginogenic dragon? Because for some reason sour scenes tend to get associated with trippiness. But it oddly works!
