5 years in the making, Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 is starting to reach the end of it's development cycle, and I can now go public with various materials I made for my entry into the competition! I'll try and post various assets I made to this Furaffinity and other social media channels I post to in the coming days, given that I am now no longer under Non-disclosure agreement (Not exactly legally binding, mind. just that the entries were meant to remain anonymous until the judging period wrapped up.)
this is a bit of key art I tried to make as a video thumbnail and in case the developers needed a piece of art like this, and it turns out... they didn't! the amazing https://twitter.com/KarakatoDzo took on the task of making much better art than I could have hoped to! I imagine he'll be posting his art of MAGMML3 bosses on that twitter at some point.
So, what exactly did I do, and what is MAGMML3?
With a partner in the form of https://www.youtube.com/user/Ethervil , who is a wonderful programmer who is VERY Knowledgeable on Mega Man, I set out to provide all non-devkit graphics, level design, design documents for custom enemies, and concepts for a singular Mega Man stage that was to be put into a contest against other solo devs and partners entering. This project, made on Gamemaker Studio, is then coalessed into a single, gigantic Mega Man fan game where a panel of judges maticulously play each entry to determine who made the best levels of the bunch!
The submission period ended in November of 2017.
there was over 190 entries submitted.
Largely, due to the prolonged Judgement period thanks to a number of setbacks, it's been nearly 5 years since I've been able to talk about all this.
Stay tuned for submissions in the coming days that will talk about specifics of my entry, my thought process, and what the past 5 years have taught me.
