Ohhhh yeah, smashed and reassembled this. Still working on it. Need to work on the body texture somemore, and add somemore bulky armor.

Well. Thing is with Mech Warrior there were several categories of mech's in the game. It ranged from small, medium and of course massive. But there were agile versions including the larger power suit the pilot was always in when he ejected which was pretty much just a mini-mech. :)
But not allot of people who like the arcade style games where you controlled your mech like a normal guy, jumping and blowing stuff up aren't going to like Mech Warrior because it was meant to be a simulator based game.
Like how instead of holding W to walk/run like in an fps you had to tap it like a throttle on a lawn mower to make it go faster and tap S to slow it down. As for jumping there wasn't free jumping where you hit space and it would jump. You had to hold it down to ignite the jump jets.
It was mainly to show realism and heft as if you were operating suck a machine irl. :)

Ya. I still have my older brothers copy of Mech Warrior 2: Mercenaries.
I just wish I had Crysis and the computer to run it because I SO want to play the fully re-created online Mech Warrior mod some guys made for it. I watched some game play videos a while back on you tube and it's nuts.
Unlike the original you can fly a jet like thing in this, once your mech is starting to self-destruct from too much damage you can eject and you're instantly in the power suit/mini-mech. Then you can watch the big one explode from a distance.
You can drive a tank. When you get killed and you're zapped back to base. You take a stair case down into a massive mech hanger and choose just about any mech you want to use from a console.
Which was just about every mech they ever made through out the years. :)
These guys were obviously die hard fans so they took their sweet time on it.

Bits and Pieces are at daz, main armor is from Beo's Archangel at daz

The Borg base human texture maps can be found at Vanishing point. but you'll have to mod them to fit the Mil dog. The weapons are from Sanctum Arts Multi figure. I don't think the figure exists anymore but you can stick any weapon on its side.

I knew the texture looked kinda familiar, Vorg eh? Havent seen that used in ages...
I really should do some renderins and upload 'em...
I'm playing with 3ds max import and rigging at the moment, having some trouble though...
I can import an object and give it a morph target, just one... or I can rig it with bones, but not both, one cancels out the other to the point of totaly removing it when boning a target-morphed object, or just saying wrong number of verticies if target-morphing a boned object.
Its a pain in the arse =p

I've looked at 3d max and lightwave the interface gives me a headache.
ya might get up with http://www.furaffinity.net/user/s0lar1x/ I know he works with 3dmax

Ya. I've had the idea in my head for one of their weapons which is their sniper rifle for a while.
It doesn't use common cased rounds like typical human weapons do. Being they're an ancient immortal race they wear a back pack unit that taps into their bodily energy and a power cord goes from the back pack to the slot where a typical power cell or clip would go.
If the cord was to be severed it would "grow" back because it's made of an alloy that is constructed with nanites.
As for the energy. The gun itself, it doesn't shoot electrical beams or plasma balls. The gun is power with the energy from the users body with three rail styled "barrels" configured in a triangular pattern. In the middle there would be contained electricity that causes a stone shard to hover.
There by completely not touching the rail system. The stone shards are long, straight and are carved into a spiral design.
Because the race lives in the sea. If they were in need of having to eliminate a target above ground the stones instantly turn into sand after the target is eliminated so their technology can't be examined or replicated.
The gun itself is completely silent when fired. But because the rounds are driven by electric propulsion the shards go at speeds of 6,000 mph.
So the actual nose from the gun are sonic booms.
Their oldest and highest ranked level of warriors are called Dreadnaughts. Only reason they wear armor is not for protection, but to contain their bodily energy.
Just figured you might find it interesting. :3

Sounds pretty cool eh?
My character Slane is the oldest classified dreadnaught known to his race and he's been around as long as the races "High Mother." His garb of choice is a pair of super-heavy armor pants with matching boots, power containing super-heavy gauntlets, matching shoulder pads to the armor and no upper torso covering so none of his upper torso is covered. Leaving his chest, biceps, stomach and neck exposed.
His race has also been on Earth before dinosaurs even existed. So they're billion's of years old and the same inhabitants are still alive to this day. His race is the oldest living thing on earth and the humans know absolutely nothing of them. And they intend to keep it that way.
Though sometimes if a human has gone lost at sea and is presumed dead it's usually because one of these guys saved him/her and hold them down in their city.
They also predict when humans are going to eventually wipe out a species of animal. And before it is done a few are rescued and natural habitats are created before it happens. So animals that humans think are extinct live in their city without them knowing.
One of their most simplistic of guns is so technologically advanced that if a human was able to obtain one their smartest scientists would be dead before they figured out how it works. Let alone how they could copy it for their own use.
But obtaining even one of their pistols is impossible because Slane is 26ft tall. So imagine what that sniper rifle would look like. :3

That is really cool looking. ^0o^
The head looks a little... narrow and fox like though. But I keep having to resist the urge to say "Hey Cyberdoggy, FETCH!!!" :D
Seriously Mapper, that thing is really cool looking! Looks like a hunter unit or something. Who is that for? The Exs? Something/someone else?

I think that kit would be the basher, not the bashee
I'm reminded of Simon Barber's writing. He had two stories (both unfinished) featuring 'taurs with side-mounted anti-tank guns. One is set in the Midnight Sonata universe ( http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Midnight_Sonata ). It starts here: http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/Si.....ale%281%29.PDF and continues in http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/Si.....ight%20Sonata/ . The other is in the TPOINT#.TXT files in http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/Si.....ished%20Tales/ . The weaponry is based on WWII armaments because Barber believes that advanced mecha would be at a disadvantage against high kinetic energy solid rounds with no electronics to jam. Here is an illustration from the Midnight Sonata stories: http://us-p.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/.....r/sabaoth2.gif and here's one from Triple Point: http://us-p.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/.....r/glrmil14.jpg .

Cool mashup Mapps!
Sabaoth immediately came to mind when I saw this one.
Frederick Anderson also did some nice Midnight Sonata (and Spontoon) artwork. http://www.naorhy.com/fa_graphics_ms.htm . Here is a nice pic of Sabaoth in her Armour - http://www.naorhy.com/art/freddy/mi....._sabaoth3.gif.
Sabaoth would kill for that rig. I think She's a a seriously cool character, and the Midnight Sonata stories are a good read.
