To be fair, we should have seen that happening to Roko's body, since it is where the three of them just escaped from, and it does seem that most of the quetz have that "holier than thou" attitude, prince Taran and queen Vetra shown fine examples in: grilling loyal aves, intimidating sun god Surya, as well as invading Brand's "domain" and taking his wings for stealing a single gem which hadn't been connected to those that were used as the offering.
