I find the best way to release emotion is to put it into a piece of music.
This is a congregation a recent chain of thoughts which have been bad news, reflection, a heartbreak, questions and the future. I needn't go into detail as it's the piece that is important. It's designed to be a reflection on a shoddy lapse of time which has led to a forlorn figure, characterised by the desolate strings and cellos and shimmering, quivering violins and flutes. The more attacking, sharper music in the middle is a rush of thought of woe striking all at once, before ending on an enormous crescendo of utter resentment.
Hey, it's better than bottling it up, right? I'm sorry it's not a chirpy, bouncy number, but grant me this one - I think it's a pretty good piece of music and it took my mind off a lot of stuff.

Hm...well, aside from it being pretty good for a somber, despondent melody...*Le sigh* I can voice how it fits with a portion or two of my life. But yeah, holding things in is never good-I've learned that the hard way over the years. Breakdowns, temper...you don't want that. But regardless, hopefully things look up, eh?
