A Conclave of Rangers Skilled in Sorcerous Subterfuge



Are you a Ranger? Have you ever wondered if you could improve on the pass without trace spell? Have you ever needed to move more people than your current party through hostile territory without being spotted? Have you ever been scried on during a long rest, and wished you could cloak everyone from magical sight?



If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then I have good news! The Conclave of The Veil Strider may just be for you! Inspired by May Marigold from RoosterTeeth's hit show RWBY, the Conclave of The Veil Strider offers players a new Ranger Subclass that grants them a malleable field of invisibility that they can use to hide themselves and their party from prying eyes, whether magical or mundane. Also included in this PDF is a page of suggested hooks for adding The Veil Strider to various established D&D worlds, from Eberron to Theros, as well as a new Legendary magic item!

As stated before, this subclass was entirely inspired by May Marigold from RWBY. What can I say? I loved her character from the moment she showed up on screen, her interactions with the other Happy Huntresses were wonderful, Kdin Jenzin's is superb as her voice actor, and to have a character who is not only canonically a trans woman but is also voiced by a trans woman? Fuck yeah, I'm all about that representation!

Seriously, as someone who is themselves transfemme, we need more characters like May out there.

But yeah, my fangirling aside, this subclass gives you a lot of ways to make yourself scarce, from an expanded spell list and bonuses to ambushing enemies, to the main feature "The Strider's Veil," a mobile dome of invisibility for you and your allies to get through enemy territory without your foes even knowing you were there. Plus, the dome gets more and more powerful as you level up, so it grows with your character. Not only that, but the PDF also includes a legendary magical weapon that even further boosts your invisibility options!
