So much emotion in this page. ^^
So I'd say that the pack is gonna take the chance, cause they don't know that the bear is dead BUT they suspect it, and move. Oo.
I hope that Oren, Rask, and the other's are ready cause they're about to get a wolf pack for neighbor's. Oo.
I'm sure that Hemlock and her group are more then ready, they're just waiting for the right moment. Oo.

I don't know if Hemlock and her group actually are that ready. She nearly got herself killed by a marten that she had the jump on and only survived because of Rask. I think they're too cocky with their spears and won't do too hot once they actually need to use them against a truly desperate and motivated opponent. I think only time will tell though...
A pack of large predators used to hunting even larger prey with dangerous natural weapons while working as a team to single out and isolating vulnerable members from a herd, wear down, and overcome it's defences...
I doubt Hemlock's group have the discipline needed; even if she herself wasn't over confident, something like a wolf pack is just about the worst case scenario for them. especially as, unlike a bobcat, even if she leverages her unknown weapon to kill a wolf in the first fight, drives the rest off... they'll remember, learn, adapt; a herd of buffalo is a problem to be worked, spear-wielding mice and rabbits likewise once they become a known quantity.

Not to mention that if they kill a wolf such as Red here, it will only infuriate the rest of the pack. A hunting wolf is far less dangerous than a vengeful one. The rabbits would lose any surprise they had previously and have a pack of wolves that are going to be a bit more ferocious and cunning than usual.
