Zanathez may seem like an oddball, an Argonian that fights like a Nord or an orc, but there's a good reason. Combat like this is in his blood, and has been part of his family tree for a very long time.
This is something he only learned recently, once he gained the ability to summon forth the animated remains of one his own ancestors - a trick taught to him by a Dunmer, who are famous for this ability. Much to his surprise, after he cast the spell, the summoned Argonian skeleton charged into battle with a greatsword - just like him.
Of course, no collection of animated bones will ever have the strength of a still-living individual, but when Zanathez finds himself in a pinch, he knows he has some kindred souls in his family tree that he can call on.
