Kyllikki is the demon-hunting heroine of a little story I'm working on. When she was a young pup her mother and siblings were slaughtered by a demonic cultist uprising that also crippled the small city-state they lived in. Her father was a demon hunter (and quite possibly the greatest archer in the land) so fortunately had the skills to rescue her that day. With nothing to return to they ended up in a fighter's guild and she has been training with some of the best demon hunters around since. One day her father acquired a small rather plain looking brown pouch that he would not let Kyllikki look in. He explained that if he ever let her look or even told her what was in it she would be hunted down by a supernatural force. She had never seen him so frightened or serious about something, and they had been through life or death situations together. He also explained that if he never returned from a crusade that she had to find his body and retrieve the pouch. Only then could she open it and once she did her task would become clear. After her father and the guild had not returned from a crusade for many months - he was with Goran's guild when they were destroyed and Goran was possessed by a spirit of war - she feared the worst. She is currently hunting him with Oskari for the location of her father's last battlefield after Goran single-handedly wiped out an Inquisitor's army and vanished into the northern forest. She's probably the second best archer in the land and often coats her arrows in a poison made from small mountain wildflowers that have either a paralyzing effect or simply kill those that come into contact with the extracts. As a young pup she slowly built up her immunity to the deadly flowers over the years by ingesting them with special teas and she can now handle them without fear. She often coats her claws in a wildflower paste before battle so she can inflict poisonous scratches on her victims. (Demons are often very difficult to injure with simple physical blows and have extremely high pain tolerances but they are always affected by natural poisons.) Kyllikki's right eye was scarred by a demon attempting to possess her when she was 8 in the demonic cultist uprising mentioned earlier that wiped out her family and home. Kyllikki's father rescued her but couldn't save the rest of his family. Although the injury blinded her to the mortal world in that one eye it left her with the ability to see the world as the spirits do. Kyllikki can see hidden demonic runes and traps that most would blunder into. It also enables her to place her shots on the true weak points of demons and percieve their true emotions and intentions. She has a several other large scars and is missing a chunk of her left ear and most of two fingers on her left paw from various violent close calls with demons. (it's a rough life hunting demons! any of the few demon hunters that have survived more than several years of service are covered in war wounds)
