As the curse takes effect on the new victim, his body transforms itself into something more appropriate for his soon new home !

Also as his body is transforming, his environment too... The forest transform itself of a fake replica made of metal ... 

Trees becoming wood cut-outs and the darkness in the horizon becoming a phony wall painting ... A decor for him to now live in ...



Well eating that was a bad idea ... 

At least it seems like the outcome could be worse for eating something random on the ground...
