Chen Fang, had wanted to live by the sea. She found the great Boreal Ocean of Adem to be so different in character that the one she had known. It was always so much clearer and cooler than expected. Which was a pleasing contrast to the hot dry climate of New Maghreb. However with no large moon and no tides the Ocean hardly moved more than at a slight chop but often stretched out in a vast mirror like expansion. This tranquility would be abruptly interrupted by large violent storms like the one now moving into the west and swallowing the sunset. Her hobby of beach combing was now less a daily ritual than a game of waiting for the arrival and departure of the gales of the Martian sea. So many treasures would be tossed up from the coral reef and turtle grass beds. Sand dollars, spinny sea shells, and shark teeth were abundant.

So many things where different after leaving the world she came from. To go from being a harem girl to living in a world where she had actually heard to people debating if accounts of prostitution in Scripture was literal or allegorical. Because they genuinely couldn't imagine people doing such a thing. She had laughed out loud at this. The locals were so naive it was amusing. Of course anyone who has been off world knows better like soldiers, merchants, diplomats, and especially refugees like herself that came from other places. No the place she lived now was a world that was hard to believe in. Where innocence was common.
