He's being too pushy, when thigs doesn't go his way.
A bit too impatient to get that high and mighty promotion.
Honestly, started liking the character, now I wanna see him getting knocked down a bit, so he could look around a get a reality check.

Kylar is a complicated guy, but he means well. He's just struggling with her being way too open with a random guy (in Kylar's eyes, he doesn't know their past) about her supposed secret identity he was sworn to keep secret. Plus the whole, you're engaged to my future boss and admitting you like someone else. x3

But of course, it's always fun to present the story with complicated situations and characters. Add more depth and dramatic tension! But also good, because that's exactly the reaction we wanted everyone to have. Kylar IS acting a bit out of line and jerkish, just like Farron and Claire has in the past. I think all the protagonists have had some jerk moments, some more overt than others, but hey, nobody's perfect.

Well, I really like the character development.
Everyone has a right for a mistake.
Just for now, Kylar seriously needs some reality check and calm his tits down.

We all have done, said, and behaved in ways that were “out of character” depending on what situations we were in and how our biases and emotional reactions made us act. This will make Kylar relatable in that he will recognize how his conflicting emotions and wants will create complications. His time will come.

Maybe but for now he sounds like a bigoted hypocrite

It's a character flaw of his, we like to say all our characters at least right now are still in their larval stages. They've yet to go through their arcs, and have those personal and outward epiphanies about life and themselves. Kylar is struggling with classism right now - but he is meant to be delivering Prince Drayven his bride to be and she's making some goo-goo-eyes at another guy while potentially giving away the secret she swore him to keep.

Good, this makes the characters realistic in that everyone has a flaw be it in their personalities, world views, or actions.

His survival depends on him being a hypocrite. Not saying it's right, but when one lives under a bigot who would have your head just for being gay, you have to really sell yourself as "hetero."

Alder culture and propaganda is a helluva drug. Kylar is parroting stuff he's grown up with and trying to deflect (especially with the homophobia).
It's a character flaw, but this is his starting point for the comic - he still has his own arc of personal growth to go through. :)
IMO Kylar's story is one of the more interesting ones in the comic and when everything is said and done, I think people will enjoy it.
