If the alien jellyfish had been captured and undergoing examination it might just want to escape and the mind control is in an effort to achieve this rather than something more nefarious.
Still 71 as a robot should be immune to mind control and she's strong and durable enough she should be able to restrain and subdue those mind controlled without harming them. She could perhaps keep the alien and those mind controlled while Gale uses his electrical powers to try and get past the telekinetic shields and short out the mind controlling helmet. Then maybe 71 can grab the alien and restrain it while she and Gale try reasoning with it.
