Jaden The Hedgehog, ‘Jade’ for short, is a 5’6” tall, muscular hedgehog with purple fur and jade green eyes - sometimes emerald green for convenience. He wears teal/jade-coloured gloves and shoes with jet-black cuffs on both gloves and socks as well as black straps and red buckles on both shoes. His name originated from his eye colour. It suits him.

Jaden was born a 'jadestone elemental' and is the personification of his namesake (one of the stones): friendly, wise, protective, nurturing and calm. Additionally, Jaden has a supernatural healing ability - he can heal people’s physical wounds, as well as mental scars/memories. To an extent, this gives him the ability of mind control, which he promises to never use for negative or knowingly selfish reasons. He’s a positive and charming individual and seems to exude an aura of good luck to those who he comes across. This positivity and supportive nature is part of the reason he is a personal trainer.

These traits would be great on their own if it wasn’t for the fact that Jaden is also a Taurus. He possesses the accompanying positive and negative traits. He’s generous yet stubborn, loyal yet possessive, patient yet stubborn, kind and gentle yet easily jealous, trustworthy yet somewhat self-indulgent, but he isn’t lazy which is good! Mixed with this, he also has a fairly fiery temper despite having such a calm and kind personality. He doesn’t get angry very often, though, but if he does, make sure you aren’t the reason why!

Moreover, Jaden also has the power of size-shifting, which he considers to be both a strength and a weakness. He can grow but can’t return to normal size except after sleeping - having said that, being big can tire him out quickly. The ability can also be unpredictable or even unreliable; for instance, becoming dormant if he hasn’t used it in a while, making it harder to trigger, but gets easier to control (stop or continue growing) after being triggered. Otherwise, he can simply trigger the power by clenching his body and fists really tightly. Negative emotions such as stress, anger and fear (as well as physical pain) can affect this too, but only if highly severe (NB: Jaden is easily scared). A growth spurt can ironically be a coping mechanism, which quickly subsides/calms down these negative emotions if he has an ‘episode’ the bigger he gets (in his words, a ‘growth spurt’).

As a kid, he was kind yet quiet and loved having fun (NB: he still does). However, he was always emotionally vulnerable due to his ‘size-shifting’; although it was helpful in defence (for himself or others), he also acknowledged that it could scare people, which would upset him, an issue that hasn’t fully left him since becoming an adult. It’s easier to do now, but he still can’t fully control it.

Jaden is a pacifist by nature, so this ability mixed with his temper can be enough in most cases to warn people away. He tries to keep it a secret, though, which only his friends or people he trusts know about. He will, however, take advantage of it at times to (along with his well-muscled physique) impress, tease, prank or even protect those he cares about.

Jaden is bisexual but prefers polyamorous relationships. Despite being considered a ‘heartthrob’, he isn’t currently dating anyone. He is into friends with benefit-type relationships.
