My former supervisor thought glühwein would be appropriate for our laboratory Christmas party because she tbelieved that heating the wine drove off all the alcohol. I tried to tell her otherwise, but she had 3 PhDs and wouldn't listen to a mere BS. Too bad her degrees were in microbiology, and mine was in chemistry. I was the only one who got any work done for the rest of the day.
