Cat Café [March 15th 2022]

Here's a piece which, while not overtly connected to Space Pirate Captain MacTaggart, I like to think is set somewhere in that universe. Maybe this is at a spaceport café, or an interstellar truck stop or something. I also have to give credit to my good friend Jake the Desert Fox for inspiring this piece - a few years ago, he did a bit of artwork showing a cat café in the more literal sense. So naturally I decided to follow suit - although my version isn't anywhere near as busy as Jake's.

This piece also demonstrates an idea I'd had at the time, of how to create new characters from my existing model sheets. Just change the colours, adjust the hair, redress them, add a moustache, and boom, new character. I mean, most of my characters kinda look the same anyway, so it shouldn't be that noticeable if I literally copy them wholesale, right?

In this case, the cat on the left is a palette-swap of Jenni Fulton, with the colours from Robusta, and the cat on the right is a palette-swap of Robusta herself, with the colours from my own squirrel fursona!
