I started rehabilitating bats a few months ago and MAN they are such cool tiny little dorks, definitely one of my favorite animals now....

I have a Little Forest Bat who isn't too happy to be in care, and not able to fly anymore...its a scary traumatic experience for him, but after 4 months in care he's now used to being handled/fed..he has to be hand fed because he doesn't know how to eat if you just put a bowl in his carrier

anyway because of covid stock of crickets at the local petshops has been chaotic, always running out of medium crickets, and if i get him the small he doesn't like the crunch, if i get the big he doesn't like the plump, he wants medium....he can eat mealworms but i want to give him a diverse diet

tl;dr he's a little princess, if you touch him wrong he will smack you with his wing, he bites but its like a stapler, doesn't break the skin, and when he realizes his bites dont work he gets even more upset. he has a little poo dance where he wiggles his bum, and if he really likes me some nights he'll groom me....they're like little dog, cat, mice things, I love him <3

then I have a goulds wattled who is an absolute beast asshole i wont go near, i'm glad he's self feeding...he scares the crap outta me fft
