Inspiration does have a tendency to strike us in the strangest of places, doesn't it? Well, when Blathers isn't in the museum (which is rather rare) he likes to play outside. It gets rather boring staying inside the museum all day, especially since the only remotely lively rooms are the ones that show off... bugs. Despite not being a burrowing owl, he does enjoy to do archeology of his own. Here he actually seems to have found something! How lucky! Perhaps it'll help him complete that half-finished Anklosaurus...

This was an entry for  Bougie 's (who I always read the name of as andrew) diapered Blathers month contest. For some reason I was against the idea of diapering owls at first, maybe because they're usually depicted as being old and smart, the opposite of a bab. However, with time I realized that these big-eyed birds are just as adorable in diapers as all the others.

Also sandboxes are kinda fun to draw, honestly.
