If this doesn't show Shasta's compassion and love for animals I don't know what does. The moment she saw this aggressive apex predator of the seas, the first thought she had was plucking it right out of the water and giving it a big soft wing hug!
I've heard concerns about Shasta's comfort in such a frigid environment, but much like the creatures native to the arctic, Shasta has a nice layer of blubber to keep her warm! On top of that she has the ability to breathe fire, so certainly she has a good level of internal warmth to spread, likely making her hugs that much more warm and comforting! And don't worry if she falls into the water. She's plenty warm and fat floats!
Hyenphea 's poor leopard seal never saw this coming! The surprised seal was just minding its own business when suddenly it was plucked right out of the water and embraced in a soft, warm, firm hug! Despite its natural aggression, this was clearly not a situation that warranted it. After the shock wore off, it felt unnaturally calm, and happily submitted to the sudden hug. Even the most savage beast would certainly agree that Shasta's wing hugs are a welcome soothing gesture.
