And here's my core character of the Hautstein family - Franz! Great grandson of Wilhelm and Sonja, he had his own problems growing up even with a supporting family. As a child, he struggled with the plight of gigantism he had inherited from his great grandfather, and indeed when Franz reached adulthood he would grow to be his exact height of nine feet tall! He was mocked, taunted, even bullied for his size and treated like a monster by misinforming classmates only wanting to stir up trouble because they thought seeing him upset was the funniest thing ever. However as he grew up, he gained an idol in a young man who was once an internet meme in such a way that put him in a plight similar to Franz's in terms of emotional and mental pain: Norman Kochanowski, affectionately known as the Angry German Kid, or Unreal Tournament Kid. He heard all about how Norman had suffered from being a meme, even how people used his video for their own gains; but also, more importantly, Norman's comeback, how he overcame his struggles and returned to the internet and the public eye better and stronger than ever! (Both mentally and physically) This would inspire Franz to try to be like him at least in some respects; working out in the gym to grow stronger, counseling and coaching (as well as loving support from great grandfather Wilhelm, whom he is very close with) to gain a more calmer mind about his gigantism which made him so different from everyone else. But unlike his normal sized cousin Helga, who would serve as an Army officer in the Bundeswehr (even seeing action in Iraq and Afghanistan), he did not seek a military career. He was always the more shy, gentle gamer type of young man, even with some of the dark sounding themes of his favorite songs, including some from Norman Kochanowski himself who also happens to have become a rapper in his own right. Instead Franz wanted to apply his mind in academics, and support himself in a decent manner. He was always good at math and loved reading history and fiction, always wanting to learn more, and because he loved visiting any library he could access, after college in Nuremberg he would apply for a librarian position in the United States - with the intent to earn money, fuel his academic passion, and see the world outside of his homeland a little bit, perhaps even appreciate his home town of Frankfurt with some distance on top of that. Little does he know that working there would cross his path with that of the love of his life. A young surrogate mother cow named Makenna...
