John sat frantically going through all his notes. Tora, Zero and the others looked at their mate with encouragement. Torahiko stood beside his friend and, looking at the monitor, tried to help John in his search. The guy was glad that even though Tora had left the project, he still wasn't offended by the young writer (sarcasm). John, meanwhile, was trying to make sense of Blizz's request. The big, strong wolf had long ago become something of an older brother to the lad, and Jon really didn't want to upset him. But exactly what seriousness was in his comments, the former fourth year couldn't understand. Could it. he thought, had it something to do with the fact that he was always hanging around the contestants? With a loud groan John stood up and sat down on the sofa. Zero put his paw on his friend's shoulder and asked what had upset John so much that he was trying so hard to find in his records. John at first said it didn't matter, but the white tiger realised the young man was lying, perhaps not wanting to scare them, the six eliminated from the contest. Realising that Zero would shake the truth out of him anyway, John confessed to everything. The fact was that originally he hadn't even planned to write the stories in the comments under the pages. John saw the beginning of the first season purely by chance, last September, but he didn't pay any attention to it then. It wasn't until March or April, silly John (sarcasm x2) couldn't remember exactly, that his attention was caught by the voting page for winning the 6th or 7th challenge. Blizzard's idea so captivated and shocked John that he couldn't help but support the young artist. Then he wrote his first commentary under the show, which he thought was one of the best, for there were such awful programmes on Russian TV that John hadn't turned on the TV for a long time. Then came the moment when Knuckles was on the list to drop out of the project, and John first came up with a storyline explaining why the mighty echidna was going home. It was the same with the Jack situation... At those words John closed his eyes and tears streamed from them. Zero held his friend close with one paw, the other one wiping away the tears that had been dripping from the boy's eyes. John sighed and continued his narration. Unable to forgive himself for Jack leaving the team, the young man came up with the story of Herman, a cat who lost his mother and had a falling out with his father, and it lasted for the rest of the issues. John didn't understand how such a mediocre, in his opinion, narrative was able to appeal to Blizzard. It was for this reason that the young man tried to stop the story, he saw only shortcomings in it, in fact, as now that he himself, personally, had become the hero of his own story. Zero and Tora looked at the man in confusion. Then Yo-Yo explained that sometimes in literature the image of the author of the story is used as a role model. John nodded appreciatively at the toy coyote and added that this technique is also found in movies when actors play themselves. Something had worked out now in the case of the young philologist. John was a real person, and when he was unable to continue Herman's story because of a session at the university, he made the hero of the story himself. And because of that, things got worse for the lad. John didn't stop seeing the flaws, on the contrary they only increased for him. Plus to John's previous nightmare with Jack added two events that he couldn't get over, namely the story of the non-existent sabotage and the story of the last victory of the PH team and the accusation of one of the spectators. Tora understood what the young man was talking about, but did not know how to persuade his friend to stop being angry with himself. As if reading the yellow tiger's mind, John said that he had tried, and that the accusations against him from two of the spectators (Nertoo and Rex) about the stupidity of his behaviour and story were justified. The young man did not want to give up writing altogether, he just realised that in the comments he had to write either briefly, or only what was needed, or not write anything. And that was the very reason why John became afraid to write anything under the pages. It was important to him that Blizzard didn't worry, didn't let up, but it came out - at least John thought so - that he, John, was just showing off. Theo, coming into the living room, said that it wasn't true, that John just wanted to be a little more supportive of Blizzard, so he was making up a story. John grinned and replied that he couldn't write until he figured out what needed to be removed. He tried to find it and couldn't. When the passage to return to the island opened, Thora asked John not to give up and try to change something in the narrative. The young man replied that the only thing he could do was to remove himself from the story so that everything would be okay. After that he walked through the portal.
