Galiren took Laredo on a mission to get some materials for a client of his thinking the war-gargoyle would be helpful. And when it came time they downed a piranha solution to store it in their toxin glands. Galiren was a bit shocked when this happened but that's a definitely useful thing his partner brought along, will make it easier to transport too.
