This is tonights piece. It was actually saposta be yesterday's piece, but.. Yeah. Between ramen, a computer crashing and eating my work, and just being unable to figure out how I wanted the curve of the tail to go, it didn't happen.
This is actually my 3rd idea for tonight, too. The first two didn't get beyond the initial concept 'sketch', if you can call a hand full of black scribbles a sketch.
Now, should I start working on a bigger canvas? What size is "Normal" for a piece of work that shows only a small portion of the body?
As for the image itself, I'm happy with how the tail tuft came out, as well as the shadow for the hair. I likely used too many layers (11 "Visible" ones), but part of that is because I was dumb and messed up with the opacity in some spots. But they ARE nice for getting the shadow under the tail and hair itself, or for adding touches of highlight here and there without fear of having to redo the entire image.
I'll learn. Slow and steady, yeah?
