Bea dey looking at me, or bea dey looking at something else? I suspect we’ll never know.
During my recent visit to Wichita, KS to see my good friend
UrsusArctos , we spent a good couple of hours at the Great Plains Nature Center, a large area of green land in the east of the city with a visitor centre and several miles of paths to follow. In the visitor centre is a large “Habitat Hall” with exhibits on the wide variety of fauna living in the state, and an observation conservatory for people to look out on bird feeders, and into a box covered by a blanket to see a large beehive at work. The Nature Center is perfect for a good stroll on a bright day, to escape from the city for a bit and to keep one’s eyes peeled for the signs of nature (tracks, leavings, etc) and for inhabitants of this little ecosystem, be they aquatic, avian, or land-based.
Hope you enjoy!
