This is one of the rare times I post an "In Real Life" photo of me out and about, and out of a fursuit/costume. Well... food is involved, and for those of you that knows me, the Silver Tiggy is all about enjoying good food (making/cooking/eating...).
Nothing says more class, than a classy "High Tea" high up on the Auckland Sky Tower (http://www.skycityauckland.co.nz/Attractions/Skytower.html) in the Orbit revolving restaurant, 190m (623 feet) up and having a spectacular 360 degrees view of Auckland. They were running a promotion/discount for members so, I took this chance to try it out with a few friends (one of whom was visiting me from out of town that week).
The delicious items that are on the platter (from top to bottom)
Top Tier:
- Freshly baked scones
- Caramelised onion and feta tart
Middle Tier:
- Traditional New Zealand lamington with raspberry coulis
- Glazed kiwifruit tart
- Chocolate coated strawberry
Bottom Tier (finger sandwiches):
- Egg and watercress
- Akaroa smoked salmon and cream cheese
- Champagne ham and grain mustard
And on the bottom serving plate:
- Fruit preserve (various berries)
- New Zealand creamy butter
- Freshly whipped cream
There are also a fine selection of tea to choose from, and we decided on:
Mediterranean Mandarin - light and refreshing, ideal afternoon tea has been enhanced with the citrus flavour of mandarin.
And it was a very, very nice "High Tea" indeed. Great ambience and view to spend a nice, relaxing Sunday afternoon.
